The latest reports suggest that Apple has developed semitransparent lenses for its new augmented reality(AR) headsets. According to ‘The Information,’ Apple is working with Foxconn Technology to build the lenses for its AR headset.
Citing a person familiar with the matter, the lenses passed the trial stage about two months ago to move into the trial production phase. Speculations are now that the AR headset from apple can debut after a year or two.
According to the MacRumors report in May. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that he expects the “Apple Glasses” to launch in 2022 at the earliest. A similar timeframe for the launch of the device also emerged from the Taiwanese site ‘DigiTimes’ and ‘The Information’.
It seems the Covid-19 disruptions have not derailed plans for Apple’s rumored augmented reality (AR) headset.
